Mobile Hydraulic Power Unit (mHPU) |
The technology of reducing the size and weight of power units have become important as the application of hydraulic robots has expanded to field robots. Mobile power units that can adjust according to required flow and can also use IoT (Internet of Things) will make mobile hydraulic robots possible.
Ordinary mobile HPUs have a problem of low energy efficiency from supplying more flow than required. Most of this flow is converted into heat, leading to energy loss, a large cooling device to maintain oil temperature, and the increase of battery volume and robot weight. To solve these problems, KNR has developed an intelligent mobile power unit that supplies optimal flow to each robot joint according to each movement, preventing unnecessary energy loss, and thus increasing battery time.
Mobile Hydraulic Power Unit(mHPU)
The module type mHPU can determine maximum flow by adjusting the number of pump modules applied, and each module can be controlled optimally by using an internal power controller. The user can control optimally by using CAN 2.0A, and we provide optional sources and libraries that can be compiled so that the user may optimize movement control.

Laboratory Hydraulic Power Unit(LHPU)
At KNR, we have completed development and production of a mobile hydraulic power unit called mHPU. However, we believed that simple mobile power units that can be attached to robots will not be enough as the hydraulic robot market expands to the field robot industries such as the military, disaster response, underwater construction, and nuclear power plant decommission areas. Consequently, we developed a product called LHPU that utilizes smart sensor technology based on IoT.
The LHPU was designed so that several LHPUs would be connected and perform independent functions to achieve optimal efficiency between hydraulic machines. With a status monitoring function, the pump can be controlled according to the flow used, leading to an increase in operating time. This sensor-integrated module design makes this product different from other power units.
