SG-ECT (Steam Generator - Eddy Current Testing)

KNR is in the early stages of development of a steam generator for eddy current testing. We have started the development urgently, to meet the need for domestically developed steam generators in order to reduce dependence on foreign countries for systems that do eddy current testing for steam generators in nuclear reactors. We have been successful in developing a probe pusher system and a remote control system (KHNP) for a robot that performs NDE testing on steam generators.

W-CIS (Wolseong-Channel Inspection System)

The safest possible fuel lines, which can withstand high temperatures and high pressure as well as direct nuclear radiation, are needed inside Pressurized Heavy Water Reactors (PHWR) designed to change fuel while running. Therefore the fuel channel pressure tubes, which are critical components, require periodic inspection to demonstrate continued fitness for service. The pressure tube fuel lines must receive period examinations and surveillance in planned preventive maintenance periods occurring during plant operation, as described on line 12 of Canadian technological standard CAN/CSA1-N285.4, ¡°Periodic Inspection of CANDU2 Nuclear Power Plant Components.¡± The fuel-line testing integrated control system is a component of the fuel-line Channel Inspection Management System (CIMS) and involves both hardware and software of the testing system. Currently we are trying to meet regulatory requirements for mid-operation fuel line testing system, including components that work (KHNP research center project) in conjunction with the testing system, such as the testing head, NDE testing equipment, conveyance equipment, and other such components.
