Hydraulic Actuator Controller


HAC (Hydraulic Actuator Controller) is a hydraulic actuator controller developed so that the user can use a hydraulic actuator as easily as using an electric motor. It can create precise closed loop control of a hydraulic actuator by connecting with a hydraulic servo valve and feedback sensor. With basic input-output and communication functions, it supports hydraulic servo valve output, analog signal input-output, CAN communication, SPI communication, and serial communication. The shield board, which is a selection board connected by an additive method, connects through various sensors and provides not only position control, but also speed, strength, and compliance control.
The HAC makes it easy to form and control hydraulic actuators, and can be used by users in other fields, students, and laymen as well as experts in automatic control and robotics.
HAC v2 supports various types of shield boards, so users can create the applications they need. HAC v2¡¯s shield board supports the following 8 standards. All shield boards are capable of serial and CAN communication. Also, all shield boards except HAC Shield-SP, HAC Shield-NP, HAC Shield-LP boards support Zigbee wireless communication (optional).
Each shield board has a sensor it supports as shown in the picture below, and all connected sensors act as feedback sensors and can use various control modes.

HACs have various software functions such as board settings, control settings, serial commands, CAN communication, etc., and the user can select and apply as needed. A control algorithm is also included, so even users who are not experts in the control field can use various controls.
In particular, algorithms for compliance control as well as position and strength control are included, allowing the application of hydraulic actuators on robots.

HAC¡¯s compliance control uses an input sensor, making the high rigidity of hydraulic actuators more flexible, and the user can use variables ( , ) to change as according to requirements.

KNR System plans to develop and release a high-performance controller model (Temporary name: HAC-Pro) that features functions that are al optimized for hydraulic robots and hydraulic automation systems. HAC-Pro will have powerful tools and advanced algorithms, providing faster and multiple control functions.
