Fluidized Reduction Furnace Dispersion Plate Cleaning Robot for High Temperature and High Dust Environment
(Mobile Robot for Extreme Environment)

Fluidized reduction furnace dispersion plate cleaning robot, is a mobile robot that can be used in extreme environments which people cannot access due to high temperature and harmful gas, as with DCR.
With an outer diameter of about 9,000 mm the robotic system is capable of transferring or discharging high-temperature reduced iron of approximately 650 ¡Æ C deposited on fluidized reduction furnace dispersion plate. While traveling on the upper surface of the dispersion plate it can not only remove the reduced iron deposited, but also reduced iron fixed between the floor nozzles.

Inside the system, water-cooled LHPU is used to supply sufficient power even in high temperature environment, and the operating methods of the system are diverse as shown below.
First, manual mode of which the force of the worker is detected using the 3-axis force sensor built in the robot and the task tool can be transferred to the desired location to perform tasks when the operator holds the equipment inside the furnace using the handle at the top of the tool.
Second, automatic mode that is devised to reduce the burden on work concentration in high temperature environment by enabling partial automatic operation by teaching a certain location of the nozzle.
Third, remote control manual mode which can be operated with remote joystick in emergency.
Fourth, by detecting the shape of the reduced iron deposited using an infrared camera and using a laser diode and two cameras, the operator can remotely teach from outside the furnace, and hence enabling remote automatic operation.

Since the manipulator is mainly driven in compliance mode, it can be controlled to ensure the planned trajectory in response to the impact force from the suction blade. Also, it can handle collisions with structures such as cyclones inside the furnace.
